projector and red light of death

The Projector shuts off and I get a red light a few moments into every print. This has happened several times
This just started happening today

"I get a process aborted Movement , or projector failed"
I have restarted all , unplugged everything and reset numerous times... It will start off fine and then shuts down

This is a 1.1 machine With 1.7.3 software.

omg, I just came for the same thing and saw your post. I am having the same issue but with the 1.2 machine. It said the projector failed, check power and cables on the screen and projector was turned off with the build table on the exposure side.

also important is, if you are in a middle of a print like mine happened after an hour, make sure not to raise the table manually like I did. When I re oppened the software, it gave an option to continue, I accepted, and it started where it had left off, but because I raised the table, it did not go back to the last position and the printed objects did not reach to the vat, but it was still doing the usual. So I had to redo everything from the beginning.

It is currently printing, so far so good, i still have half hour to go, but if it happens again, I will just restart software without touching the manual controls and hopefully it will finish it properly. Hope someone would know the issue better with more experience and lead us to a fix. I did not restart nor disconnect anything, just re launched to software though.

Had the red light issue couple of times on my new machine when I first got it. I know it's strange, but never happened again. "Knock on Wood". Make sure u unplug the projector from the power source, wait a few minutes, plug up and let it reboot internally. I treated it like my cable box when it gets wacky. After I did that it didn't happen again. I guess there is always a possibility that there could be some buggy projectors out there. Try everything else first. I would def avoid pushing buttons on the projector, unless Mike gives u instructions to do so.

hmm still an issue after leaving it off for a weekend and unplugged. I am happy that its intermittent to users but still enough of an issue to raise eyebrows in my opinion.

I was hoping for more help haha

My first idea is to replace the bulb.. i hope i do not have to replace projector.. that would stink

Here is my Theory... When the first filter is removed from the D35 projector, that essentially doubles the output of UV light which is why we have to instantly drop the MSM of the machine down to around .500 and slowly work our way up if needed.
There is a second filter inside the casing that is not part of the removable lamp assembly.
I suspect that if you use the modified projector with a high MSM number 1 or 2 times without an additional fan , that the second filter will crack. That will allow extra heat into the lense area where there is a heat sensor . That cracked filter, combined with the heat sensor will shut down the projector . Attaching a picture of the cracked filter within the casing.
Please take a look and see if this filter is cracked... if it is, then , replacing this and putting an extra fan on your projector may help the longevity of this part.

I am not sure that this is the problem, but I strongly suspect it.
