Life Time of New DuraVats

Hello,
All B9 Core Series Users,

Am Soon Buying One in few Days,
Had Few Questions, would be grateful to know it from the user experience,

1. What is is the Life Time of New DuraVats ?

2. Does the Core Series allow input for Exposure time and other manual settings like that of B9 Creators v1.2 ?

3. Can We Use Cherry Resin in the Core Series ?

4. As Claimed by the Company , really it does not require any Calibration over period of time ?

5. On First Startup, we can just get On with Printing getting the Printer Out of the Packaging ?

Reply Awaited.

Thank You.

just got a Core 550 here's what I understand. all of these questions can be answered in the orientation I think.

1. Life time of the new duravats, something like 6,000 (maybe 60,000?) print hours or a year, they require a bit of regular care, (clearing the window of resin and allowing it to oxygenate, treat the window like a precious thing, only touch it with approved instruments and agents of cleaning. the rest can be cleaned with paper towel.) the inside of the machine shouldn't get dirty ever if you do things right.

2. No, it seems to be there are settings for the individual resins and that's all you choose from, but you shouldn't need to tweak it.

3. No. neither Cherry or Red seem to be supported for the Core models according to the site at B9Homepage>Products>Materials.

4. The light projection system is different. and since there are fewer moving parts (no adjustable XY rez, not side to side movement on the vat) there is less to go out of alignment. it should not require user calibration and I believe the warranty covers recalibration if for some reason prints start to fail.

5. We set ours up in less than an hour, (already had softwares installed on computers) and had the test print done in 42 or 49 minutes in emerald. It came out excellent and we've pulled 9 prints so far that were perfect and very fast we've used both Wifi file transfer and USB insertion both are easy and intuitive.

Hope that answers your questions well enough
Best Regards,
Aaron of RMW

There is a provision for other resins (which would include Cherry) that allows you to simply enter an exposure dosage. With a little experimentation you should be able to print with them.

Thank you so much @Aaron RMW and @mikej for the Reply,

Have a clear Vision now for getting One B9 Core in a week or two.

One More thing i wanted to know,
What should be the Test Print for the first time printing ?

Is there any PreSetup Platform included to be just printed and check that if its printed fine ?

Yes, there is a test print included in the printer's library, so you can print right out of the box.

The print time for the test print varies a bit depending on the resin used. We used emerald (because that's what we use) and it took under an hour at the recommended setting. the test print has some ring halves, a class ring top, and some neat doddads that show off the quality of work the printer can produce. There's a complex Buckyball-like object that we're going to try casting to test ourselves and the resin.

Where is this provision? does using 3rd party resins void warranty?

I think b9 resins are great, but it might be fun to play with some of the bio compatible or clear ones.

See the custom material options in the B9Create software (you need to be connected to the printer). It's possible to damage a vat with a 3rd party resin, but primarily if it contains abrasives (ceramics, etc.). So yes, 3rd party resin damage to a vat is not covered by warranty but probably not a risk for most "standard" resins.
