I expect they will be about 1/2 the cost of the metal (~$120 ->$60).
They will be injection molded orange polycarbonate .
They won't need a vat dam to recoat , as we've created a built in "van Cleeff" dam first suggested by Alexandre van Cleeff in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=18&t=1704&p=16995&hilit=cliff+method#p16995
We experimented with a large variety of dam profiles to find the best one for the process.
Some of the advantages are: easier to recoat - no dam and no menicus to trim, consistent pdms thickness will give more consistent results and should eliminate the need for table calibrations when swapping vats of this same style.
We've been loosing money on the red metal/glass vats, so we don't plan to keep offering them. If there is big demand we might, but the price would need to be higher to make it worth while.
