You will get the same effect if you simply leave it in Pickle overnight... Turn off the pickle at night and let it sit.
You can also spray clear lacquer that I used on your pieces before...

Thank you, Daniel.
Will non tarnish silver or sterling silver do the same thing in pickle?
I got some Clear Guard as a top coat. I brushed it on and so far the "look" is good.
Second coat went on this morning.

Yes,
Sterling silver/ non tarnish silver should do the same, it takes a while and may not be as pronounced as the bronze.

Cool. I'll try it. I day or two of soaking for a new look could be worth the wait.
I love passive processes.

Today's crop of experiments.
"Crystalline Bronze" matte/high polish with silver and CZ. Will probably work well with a pearl also.
Or could be diamond, platinum and 18K gold.

The only support and sprue is a at the top point. No supports along the side to be cut off and finished.

Another day, another experiment.
Worked out casting procedure that enhances the crystals.
"Crystalline Bronze".
Looking for a way to do the same thing to silver. Pickle just doesn't cut it.

Hi Larry,
Regular old fashioned Copper/silver should do it. Stuff that has Deoxidizers will also work, but definitely not as well.

The old fashioned 925 with copper alloy should work . Pickle needs to be strong and must go into pickle with no plaster. Plaster left on the silver through Pickling will leave red stains under the plaster requiring another dip in Pickle.

Thank you, Daniel.
I tried hot, strong pickle on H&S's TruSilver and got nada. Its what they use for in house castings and is anti tarnish.
What would nitric acid do? I know it etches silver, but that might not be what I want. I think I want the alloy etched to reveal the silver. Right?

Many deox metals have very little copper in it now days, so you have to go back to the old silver to get the effect needed... Or a metal that still has the copper alloyed in .
The Pickle is removing some of the copper from the surface ( I believe) I am not a metalurgist, so I may not be explaining it correctly...

Thank you, Daniel.
Looks like I may have to get some cast sterling to test.

Thank you. Just did a three day wholesale show Fri-Sun. Average order value was up 2X to 3X from last year.
The Crystalline Bronze was introduced and did well. The bronze is plated and heat cured with a transparent nano ceramic so it doesn't oxidize. Pendants and earrings only.
Most models are .5 to .6mm thick up to 60mm long.
Setting up casting was the best thing I've done since buying a B9.
Each casting is printed. No molds, no wax.
Many thanks to the generous contributors on the Forum that helped smooth way.
And a special thank you to Daniel at Race Car.

Thank you, Robert.
A three hour nap yesterday has helped my recovery.
Not seeing daylight for three days is disconcerting.

Been messing around with patinas. Lots to learn. Different cleaning techniques give different results as do different bronze alloys. And then there are the formulas. The combinations are endless.
