Partial supports 1:1

I did look at the model u sent and am supprised that it printed for u with all the overhangs u have that were not supported. We all get lucky sometimes. Try printing something simple and then u will know that u have to do something diff with that tricky model.

Here are the settings i am using on 1.1 machine with 1:1 red/cherry mix.

Are you really using these settings? Shutter speed is very fast and your attach times are mammoth! Bulb dimming?

He is using 1.1 machine, not the new one. Settings there are much shorter.

He needs to go and set up the test 1:1 materials from Mike's post.

I went and used the test 1:1 materials from mikes settings. All that cured was the first one or two layers of the base. Nothing else. The layers that were on the build table were very soft and I pushed them off easily with my finger.

I still think is a model issue. Try printing something more simple and see what happens. Do a short print, u can even abort at some pt and just check the progress of the print. If a simple model prints then it is the model and the supports that are the issue.

Simplified the ring by removing any sort of detail.
This is a very simple print. Still the supports dont print far enough to reach the model

This could be under exposure or too much pigment.

Too much pigment can happen if you fail to shake the bottle during the first portion of usage (leaving settled pigment in the bottom) and then shake later (resulting in a higher percentage of pigment in the remaining resin).

Under exposure while using the calculated times (as you have done) can indicate a lamp that has dimmed faster than standard. By going into Settings, you can adjust for that by increasing the Machine Specific Multiplier (MSM). Changing it from 1.0 to 1.1 will result in a 10% increase in overall exposure times.

I'd suggest increasing your MSM to 1.1 and see if that improves the result.

Hi Mike,

We spoke over Skype RE this issue earlier in the week. I have emailed you the results of our conversation. Was hoping you could shed some more light on what is going on.

Yes this was suggested previously so I made a new batch. This is a brand new mix from two un opened bottles and I have made sure I've been shaking it very well.

The bulb is brand new. Only a few hours old. I purchased a new one because of this issue.

I have tried turning up the msm and even at 1.2 its not getting a good result.

Have u checked the lamp filter and the internal filter (one between the lamp assembly compartment and the main projector housing? There have been some issues with the filters.

Could also be out of focus, or pdms that's gone very cloudy...

But I see now that you say the pdms was fine.

At this point I can only suggest turning up the MSM further, maybe 1.4, and test what happens.
Really scratching my head with this one.

The zoom is "hard over" to the 50 micron position, (can't see how you could focus if it's not).

Turn up to 1.4 even with a new lamp? That's a very long exposure time compared to what the machine should be getting.

I have tried changing the pdms, same result.
The projector is definitely in focus

I took apart the case of the projector to inspect the inner filters. Neither of them appear cracked or damaged. Is there something else I should be looking for with them?

Is there a rep for B9 creators in the UK that could help and take a look at this machine for me?
It's been a few months now since the original post and is becoming rather costly and I would be grateful for any help at this point.

I would simplify this, use a simple model, use unmixed resin, and default settings for everything. Also new resin. I do not think that will solve your problem but at least it should make it make it easier to find the problem. It looks as if your model is under exposed. This should mean one of three things. Not enough light, to much photo inhibitors, or you have contaminated the resin and the photo-initiator. Please print with default settings, red resin and post results.

We just bought the latest B9 and I've been having the same issues. Partial or non-printing supports.
I'm still trying a few things mentioned here but just wanted to say thank you all for the tips. I'll keep an eye on this post and let you know if anything works for me.
