Loading more than 1 b9l file?

Is there a way to load more than one b9l file in the layout?

What I was trying to do is load a couple b9l files in the same layout because they all had complicated supports that have already been applied to the models.

Open the Files you want to combine in an ordinary text editor.
Make sure it's text only mode, no formatting.
"Save as" one file to create the new file.
From the second file copy the text from the stl file name (including) to the next "endsupports" (including).
Paste it into the new file, just before "endinstancelist".
Make sure "endinstancelist" starts on its own line.
Save the file, open in B9Creator, move the copied model to where it belongs, slice and print.

In the top row you see the original documents.
The left one is saved as "combined".
The grey area from the right file is copied into the "combined" document (blue area).
Save.
Finished

Thank you. That is a little more in depth than I would have expected. I appreciate the time and effort.

Direct importing of more than one b9l file in a layout should be something to consider to improve the software. You should be able to pull in as many b9l files and stl files as needed.

For now I'll add tabs to my stl models in those trick spots so that supports can attach to those tabs faster and easier.

Thanks brumbaer! I knew there had to be a way to do this!

I like the idea of being in Layout and having an option to "import" another layout into the one that's open. I'll look into adding that in the next release.

To be clear, it would simply import the other layout's model's and supports, it would not "link" the layouts. So if you went back to the imported layout and changed it, those changes would not be in the layout that had imported it earlier.

That will be a fantastic feature, Mike. Thanks for listening!

Really good tip Brumbear, I'd been wishing for this for a while, like, selecting a model with supports and copy/paste it from one layout to another, and having more than one layout at a time open.

Thanks for the tip!

To resolve this issue, I generally export the file with supports from one layout and save it as a new stl file. Then add the same into the new layout.

Yes. Actually when we export, it exports all the models on the bed along with their respective supports into 1 stl file.
If we need for example only 2 of 5 files, then it will be easier to "save as" the layout, keep only what you need and then export the 2 files.
