I'm checking into it, need to take in a couple more pieces tomorrow so the company I'm working with can start testing. They have been successfully casting ABS grows from FDM printers. I should have some answers within a week. I'll keep you all posted.

akgold -

The resin is $65.00 / ltr + shipping. I've been printing at 75um xy / 38um and 50um z - (50um Initial layers 3 sec x 2, T-Base 1.5 sec, T-Over 1.5 sec) (38um Initial 3 sec x 2, T-base 1.25, T-Over 1.5 sec) Plan to run test's using both the 50um and 100um xy over the next couple weeks.

Here is a link to tim.yoshi's post and his results at 50um x/y - http://www.b9c.com/support/?mingleforumaction=viewtopic&t=1354.0

My results are aproximate coz I used a lot of black pigment. I think due to it's nature black absorbs slightly more light than, say yellow or red. So you should use my settings only as aproxiamtion for start. Then find your own :)

This is the reply that "fun to do" has said to me:

Dear Claudio,
At the moment the resin has still not been tested for casting for jewellery purposes.
We are busy trying to get a good castable version.
Best regards,

A quick update with regard to casting the FTD resins: The first cast (bronze) results are very encouraging. The model was completely intact, but there are a few areas with surface defects (pitting), overall ~ 90%. I'll apologize in advance - the attached image has been heavily cropped because I cannot publicly release the work at this time :( I have a few ring models that I will grow and take in for testing. If there is something specific you would like to see please pm or email me.

It would be helpful if the castings were done in a metal jewelers might use often, say sterling silver for one, it is the least expensive. If u need models I will provide some that were grown as extras to get casting results.

Robert,
Absolutely, if you can email the model(s), I'll set up a grow and take it in. If you have the layout file that would be great as well.

CAPS257RM,
Ill post a couple other grows from the FTD later this afternoon.
