Core Test Print Buckyball

I was wondering if the Buckyball from the test print was available as a standalone printable object. I would like to use them as Casting testers. Is the file for the sphere available or some similar model?

Re: Suggestions for printing

yep. I compared print time estimates our machine gave for black...something doesn't seem right at all. definitely submit that support ticket because the black should take less time than the emerald. Is this a used machine or did you buy it new?

Re: Suggestions for printing

the difference in print time could easily be from different materials used. I don't know if that is any real indication of an issue.

Re: Suggestions for printing

it seems like the attachment layer on the sample print is uneven, are you making sure the build platform finger screw is tightened enough? you may want to contact support as well if you haven't already.

Re: Life Time of New DuraVats

just got a Core 550 here's what I understand. all of these questions can be answered in the orientation I think. 1. Life time of the new duravats, something like 6,000 (maybe 60,000?) print hours or a year, they require a bit of regular care, (clearing the window of resin and allowing it to oxygenat...

Re: resin

uhhhhh....not this kind of resin? the resin we talk about here is UV cure and used for making 3D models and much more expensive than what you want/need for this application. I would suggest you try googling "how to make letter sealing wax" you're overthinking it I believe. something like e...

Re: Grey!

I agree! I just ordered the Grey resin and now I just read here that it is not suitable for the creator. Bad communication! I have waited also on ordering till the Grey came out. Can I use the "Black" settings or should I just return it (if I can, even though it is unopened....)? I don't ...

Re: Gray resin compatability with 1.1/1.2 printers?

from the product descriptions it seems that grey is probably faster than yellow in terms of print time. as yellow is mentioned as the "fastest printing CASTABLE resin" while grey is billed as being capable of building 100mm/hr on the core machines. (nothing else has a quote regarding how f...

Re: Gray resin compatability with 1.1/1.2 printers?

it seems like it will be, there was a response earlier to a question regarding this in these forums. I believe they are working on finding the appropriate settings for v1.- machines to use grey. as to print time of grey vs yellow...they are very different resins you can't burn grey out like you do y...

Re: Problem in printing

if the projection was too large when you tried to calibrate, then moving the projector up would be the answer, not down. make sure you are calibrating for the correct print size.

Re: Use yellow resin with third part 3d printers!?

if you can use any projector available I would suggest getting the same one the B9 creator v1.2 used. not sure the exact model, and it needs some modification from stock. I think you can still find them.

it may be that your MSM is too high or that corner is getting overcured due to another adjustment.

Re: Build lines on the surface

I think there may still be an issue AK, and he hasn't wasted our time necessarily just because an item is too large to fit in the 30 xy window doesn't mean it's devoid of detail and doesn't need good calibration. This user does seem to have an issue with the z-rod maybe, there's a regularly appearin...

Re: Build lines on the surface

From what I understand this is what is called the "lego effect" or something similar. Basically if you are expecting a glossy smooth finish you will be disappointed, this is due to the way the printer "builds" the object. it is a layer at time, and each layer is made of pixels th...

Re: Need Gemvision Teacher Are there any out there?

everything Robert said. if you are comparing time to "get it" to how long it takes to learn a program yourself I'm willing to bet 1 day with an instructor is worth at least 1 month of self-guided poking-around and figuring it out for yourself with the great googles. So are you willing to p...
