Re: Vat Nano-Coating?

AFAIK nobody tried it.
I assume it potentially could be fast wearing, i.e. after few prints it could dramatically loose it's properties. Or it will just wont work at all from the beginning :) That's my humble Prediction )

Re: Light Normalization

I know what is aberration. I'm kind of hobby photographer too :) I think more important is a) vignetting effect of the lens, b) hot spot of the lamp c) uneven thickness and angle of placement of various coatings and filters which light should penetrate inside the case of projector (first UV filter o...

Re: Light Normalization

Okay, but I'll mention once again my general thought - to what exact wavelenght this method is sensitive? If it's about 500-800 then it will be completely useless! Never forget that we are dealing with full spectrum light source! If it would be narrow spectrum say 265 UV LED, then such a method coul...

Re: Geometry Accuracy

I'd say that this is normal. I never was able to achieve 100% accuracy. Usually no one won't notice it, but when we are talking about some really crazy requierements like 0.1 mm this is where I don't think it is possible. Or if you really want to, you could do a lot of experimentation. And meaybe so...

Re: v1.2 HD with 1:1 Mix - not curing?

If you'll let it sit for 5 hours some pigment will settle out and actually it will make better chances for print ot suvive. Yes, it's the case, coz when there is less pigment in resin it will cure easilly. If you have problems with curing with resin sitting 5 hours, yoo'll def will have more with &q...

Cool photos. I guess it's studio lighting system, kind of some light box?
So you are sure that it is similar to pDMS?

One more thing, I talked a lot with guys that do have othe machines with similar principle like DW, rapidshape, form1 and all of them state that PDMS they use could bring them 100-200-300 prints! And that's without any "de-oxygenizing" with slide it! Amazing! How it's possible? I noted one thing abs...

Also I noticed if part was somehow undercured it will warp more. And vice-versa.

Unfinished and warped prints:( HELP

Ok. So you did a lot of mistakes here. Let's clear it out :) First. Why you mixing 1:1 red and cherry and then add extra BLACK pigment? Are you sure what are you doing and why? :) Do you intend to cast them? Then no black! It's carbon and it's very bad for castings. If you want to achieve better qua...

Mike, this is awesome idea! I have read on TI datasheets that 350-360 nm UV should pose not a big problem to the DLP chip. I have posted a links somewhere on forum. But our lamp generates much wired spectrum down to 300 or even 250 nm. If that could be blocked it would be great! Also, yes it should...

Possible New Vat Idea for Mike

Wonderful! I got the same on my mind - why not to open/close VAT to random positions? It should allow for much longer PDMS life. Should be very simple to implement in code, but downside - VAT coating should be very uniform and flat.

behold3d, thanks :) It was cheap and looked good, so I decided to go with it :) Also I do realize that I was wrong - kitchen oven is intended to be used OVER HOT surfaces with HOT AIR GOING UP. But in our case Isopropyl alcohol vapors are HEAVIER THAN AIR (to everyone's note too)! So I need to add ...

Idea for fail safe to protect the projector in case of vat failure

Wow, cool thing. But it is so simple... Interesting on which light spectrum it is sensitive. We really do acre only about 300-550 nm. We don't care about green, red and infrared portion of spectra. If something is absorbing red? Ok, who cares here? But if something relates to blue - that is importan...

As to color wheel - you could easily found it online - just google "dlp color wheel". Regarding my current setup it is fairly easy - regular kitchen ventilation system connected to a fliexible hose. However it is not ideal - i'm planing to use bigger hose in future. Here some photos. Also I want to ...
