Re: v1.2 jamming during print

The printer acts as if it's "forgetting" to raise the z motor the farther the print proceeds. The first few layers slide right off. It gets progressively more difficult the more layers print.

Re: v1.2 jamming during print

I use 60 g of Sylgard to make the pdms. I always have some resin overflow onto the lower vat area after each recoat. You can see the overflow in the pic. A bit harder to see is the pretty dam, but it's there. https://photos.smugmug.com/GraciesGold/B9-Creator/n-TBCbC/i-8jQ562x/0/76175b9e/L/i-8jQ562x-...

Re: v1.2 jamming during print

Yeah, I did. I can use the toggle screws to move up in the z direction and to move the vat right and left. It doesn't appear to be hanging. It WAS hanging just before it jammed. It was having trouble sliding off the pdms. On the last print I checked to see when it jammed. It occurred after the remai...

v1.2 jamming during print

I called technical support, but haven't heard from them yet. I hadn't needed to print for 2 or 3 weeks. When I fired up the printer, the print jammed and the job aborted. Here's where I was: - I used a fresh vat - checked build table calibration, I didn't have to change anything (I checked with shim...

Good jobs, guys. I get these all the time. Unfortunately. :-) But the customers always seem to go away happy

Re: 3d scanner use for making shadow bands

I see $1k scanners on eBay every now and then. Chinese made. They report resolutions that "should" work for our shadow band needs. I just haven't wanted to spend the $ on an experiment

Re: PDMS replacement

I have a small toaster oven for curing the resin vats, but I actually don't use it. My vats cure at room temperature. I don't need vats cured in 1 hour so badly that I want to mess with the curing ovens. I own three vats. - I use one for one week, and print with it for about 20 - 25 hours of actual ...

Re: Trouble with fill reference when starting a print

Actually, the problem was a fluke. I haven't reproduced it since.

All my prints are wonderful, my designs are brilliant, beer is cold, and I just love the summer heat in TX (ok, that last one was an exaggeration!)

Re: Trouble with fill reference when starting a print

Hmmm. I had this exact same thing just happen to me right now. This is where the build table stopped for the fill reference. https://photos.smugmug.com/GraciesGold/B9-Creator/n-TBCbC/i-FZHtJV4/0/81018aa2/L/i-FZHtJV4-L.jpg Not a particularly tall print, only 1086 layers. Prior print this am (950 laye...

Re: issues with supports

I find that for delicate prints, I need to have a fairly fresh pdms layer. I sense that's more of a machine specific issue; mine has an alignment quirk. But other than that, my B9 v2 just hums along. So consistent, it's boring. :D

Re: issues with supports

What's the age of your pdms layer? In other words, how many prints have you done on that layer? I keep a spreadsheet to record pdms life on the same computer I have the B9 software on. https://photos.smugmug.com/GraciesGold/B9-Creator/n-TBCbC/i-SLzWxth/0/4f7e51af/L/i-SLzWxth-L.jpg I find that to pre...

Re: Core 530 ring print photos

It's amazing that the rings, just lightly touching the foundation layer, would not fail during printing. I'd normally use many more supports with the V2.

They had it at the jck show. Not much info available, but apparently this resin is only for the Core series?

Re: Question on latest print?

I love the Core 530...just don't like the resin. That's amazing. While resins are harder to cast than wax, these new resins are much easier than the prior resins to cast with. Your experience isn't what the rest of us are having. There's an attributable cause to what you're experiencing: curing, or...

Re: Need help in calibration

Hari,

The measurement you should be looking for is the diameter of the 5 small square blocks on the print. From those measurements, you can adjust the msm, slope, and fade.

There's a video on the B9 site that explains the process

Re: Reseal glass on 1.2v metal vat

Pretty much any of the Permatex products at the autoparts stores will work.

Read the packages and make sure the sealant is recommended for glass.
