Re: How Would You Support/Grow This

I looked for posts on spacing supports but could not find it either. It's attached on both sides, and I tried increasing my settle time and eliminating the overlift, but I cannot get it not to sag. And if I support it in the center, it sags on the opposite edge. On a 30z slice, gravity just cannot o...

Re: How Would You Support/Grow This

No, the base printed fine. It sags here: head.JPG I'm curious why the prong cap shape makes a difference? It's just as easy to make them flat, but 1 more thing to explain to the customer in addition to why they are so tall. And in this one, there are a lot of supports for the base, but none are need...

How Would You Support/Grow This

I tried growing this model flat on the bed, but the long flat section of the seat sagged quite a bit. It looks like the first layer(s) almost makes an arch and touches the flat base section. HowToSupportGrow.stl Also, sometimes at the top of a ring I get a shift right around the layer where the two ...

Re: Prints breaking up / Filling up

The thinner part of your triangle doesn't have any supports. That's a bit of a overhang.

Re: Prints breaking up / Filling up

Do you have another computer/fresh OS install you could use to see whether it is your computer or printer causing the problem? The prongs look underexposed. If your calibration prints fine, maybe your PC is having a hiccup, either skipping or underexposing layers. When you filter your resin with a p...

Feature Request - Pause For Inspection

When working through a problem, it would be nice if the software would pause the printing automatically: ⋅ Setting allows you to specify printing to pause at layer X or every multiple of X, i.e. X=5. ⋅ After layer 5 prints, the build table raises to the height it normally does wh...

Re: Purpose Of The Overlift

Ah, I was very confused thinking they were settings per cycle like shutter open, close, settle, etc. Now that I see they are like base, attach layers, and a base they make perfect sense.

Purpose Of The Overlift

I have a couple of questions about the overlift. What is it's function or what am I losing if I set them all to 0mm? Also, why are there 3 settings?

Re: Logo Missing From Calibration Prints

It's the size of a small thumb :) I'll take a photo in my hand next time. The red VAT plate does have some bowing. I checked it on a piece of glass. Looks like it's around the projector cutout. I tried straightening it and I'm not sure if I made it worse or better. It's flatter, but the shape of the...

Re: Logo Missing From Calibration Prints

I took an old alum vat without it's PDMS coating and placed it in the machine. I put a horizontal dial indicator on the glass and measured the travel (up and down). As the shutter closes, it's height drops by about 50 microns, but just as the x axis motor engages, the vat plate jumps up. Over 3 meas...

Re: Logo Missing From Calibration Prints

Before the past two days, I've printed a lot of things. Calibration prints were tightly grouped (1.99-2.02mm). Prints were perfectly acceptable with very minor banding. I did have thin, asymmetrical print failures on symmetrical parts. Knowing I had an asymmetrical logo issue I started investigating...

Re: Logo Missing From Calibration Prints

Robert, are you saying for next time or do you see something in the pictures and are telling me to start over? I can definitely see it being easier and would have saved me a day if I had laid it down, but I thought I got it dialed in now.

Here are my level tests (everything looked good). I don't have a smaller level here:

Re: Logo Missing From Calibration Prints

Matt, thanks for the pictures. I will check that out next. Here is what I've been doing for the past two days. I started checking the alignment of everything I could think of and ended up disassembling my machine. After each step, I would check the alignment of previous steps and find that they were...

It was a mess of a mesh. Try this and check your preview window for stuff like that.

Re: Logo Missing From Calibration Prints

One is to take a square and line it up flush with the back of the z axis and rest it against the delrin rails and see if there's a gap and correct it by loosening the left and right, front-most screws that attach to the x-axis. Then you can tilt the x-axis up or down a little bit to get it to the c...

Re: Logo Missing From Calibration Prints

So this is definitely a calibration problem, right? When the shutter closes something is bumping either the table or VAT and causing the fine soft cured details to shear from the print. I can safely eliminate the Z axis, as the build table is static during shutter close. I think I can eliminate the ...

Re: Logo Missing From Calibration Prints

I set my MSM back to 1.100 and my focus and zoom are pretty spot on. Is there anything else I should be looking at? What would make part of the "+" sign break off like that?
