Is there a casting/burn out oven checklist recommended for the b9 emerald resin or anyone care to share theirs? I'd love to give it to my caster for comparison and adjustment in his process.
Yeah.. must be my caster for sure. Everyone else I've talked to say they are getting perfect cats with b9 emerald.. The 3 or 4 people using b9 emerald with my caster have similar problems.. tried just about suggesting everything to my caster but to no avail so looking for a wax like resin that does...

Thank so much for sharing.. As much as I love using B9 products, the emerald has just not given me consistent results, even with platinum casts and I've tried almost everything for the past year. Perhaps its my caster and their casting/burnout process that is not right. However, today my caster show...
Update.. So I increased my cure cycles on the B9 cure machine to 8 cycles of 9+ minutes and am finally getting smooth casts. I'm sure most don't need this kind of cure cycle for clean castings. My caster is unlikely to change his burnout process as he casts a lot each day and has never had problems ...
thanks Robert.. I do this at home so heat curing is not possible, only longer curing time. Caster won't change his burnout process as I only cast a few pieces and I used to have smooth casts when using the B9 Cherry/Red resin and curing in a nail lamp for 6 hrs. The only thing different right now is...
Hi, Anyone know if its possible to override the B9 cure lamp duration so I can turn on the light for longer so I don't have to stand around monitor and keep turning it on after 9mins or so? I don't use any heating process to cure my prints so think I need atleast 8 cycles of 9+ minutes for a proper ...
Something is not being done properly. Been casting Emerald prints for about 1 yr. with no issues. What curing is being done and how? Robert Howle please see my other post Robert.. I think my cure times are not enough. I cure about 5 minutes x 2 sides in the B9 LED curing box. May have to increase i...
Perpetual, what curing is being done by u and what method. Also what cleaning method are u using to remove uncured resin after printing? Robert Howle Aside from using B9 LED lightbox (short cure times) instead of a cheap nail curing box (hours to cure), I have not really changed my cleaning/curing ...
My caster is having issues with my Emerald resin prints also. I used Cherry resin on my B9 v1.2 and rarely ran into any casting issues. Caster hasn't changed anything in his casting process and is suggesting I switch back to Cherry resin on my B9 Core 530.
Hi, Anyone running into casting issues with the B9 Emerald resin? I send out my prints to a local caster and lately the prints from my B9 Core using Emerald resin have been problematic with surfaces coming out rough. My caster is asking me to return to using B9 Cherry resin. We almost never ran into...
B9 v1.2 is an excellent printer in terms of print quality and reliability having owned and used both the v1.2 and Core 530. I highly recommend it for those on a budget, can't afford a Core or are hobbyists who don't do many prints and to whom speed isn't so much of a concern. I do not work for or ha...
amazing details.. I would love to see a screen grab of your layout file. It seems like you need a heck lot of supports to print this. The B9 v1.2 is once heck of a nice machine to run. If only the PDMS tray didn't require any maintenance ^^
The Uv pens work really well... you can fill areas much better then super glue, then after curing for 10 seconds, it's strong enough that you can file the UV glue down to a perfect finish. Works with the B9 material too. If it's a large repair, you can tack it with the pen, add material to the cavi...
yes, I use that for initial joints but sometimes I need to fill holes and need more material. There are many of these uv lights available on Amazon. Don't want to buy one that doesn't work.
Metalcaster wrote:I use the $9 glue/light pen available at Walgreens Pharmacy. The UV glue works great for non castable repairs and the UV light cures B9 material very quickly
Do you have a link online where I could buy it? I live north of the border and we don't have Walgreens around.
Hi, I was wondering if any of you have used and could recommend a portable UV or laser light/keychain I can use to cure B9 resin and join printed parts/fill holes etc? I have the B9 curing light box but its not suited when I need to hold parts together with my hands and cure.
lol.. try orienting the part at an angle to eliminate full horizontal surface which seems to be floating and would likely still fail with lots of supports
