They were laser cut out of black acrylic, thus they are black Vats, it makes it easier to see the resin :-)

B9 for sale Detroit Area

I am selling the B9 v1.1 that I purchased from the last Kickstarter campaign. Hopeing to find a good home for it. Unfortunately I don’t use it as much as I had anticipated so it needs to go. Used a handful of times. You can see me assembling the unit here in the Youtube video. http://youtu.be/oizk0q...

Inches or mm when adding a part

I am trying to import a .stl part file, and for the life of me it only imports as "mm" is there a way to select inches instead? The item comes in at 3mm but should be importing in to the B9 software as 3 inches, I have even round tripped the object in my cad software and specifically selected inches...

Replacement Vats?

Kirk,
I know what you mean about milling the corners, Looking forward to see a picture of what your vat looks like. I may just get a piece of borosilicate glass and cut it up. Is your glass like regular glass to cut, score tap and snap?

What would be a good place to have a build window made in borosilicate? My local glass place was useless!

Replacement Vats?

Have you had to change any of your setting times when you print? Also where did you purchase the glass part, a local glass place? My question is really more about, can I just walk into my local glass store and give them the dimensions and have them cut me a few or will this be something I have to ge...

Re:Making Plate Glass VAT with NanoClear Coating

I guess I will just get a piece of regular glass, get it cut to the right size and have one edge beveled and glue it into the vat with JB weld and coat it with PDMS and see what happens. Has any one tried this yet?

Re:Making Plate Glass VAT with NanoClear Coating

Could I just use a regular piece of tempered glass I get from a glass place? I could even have them put a bevel on one edge for the water fall edge.

Re:Making Plate Glass VAT with NanoClear Coating

I plan to build a test unit in the next few weeks with a glass plate in the build area. The existing vat is starting to have issues after the third PDMS recoat. I think that glass will stand up much better, be optically superior and more durable over the long haul than the acrylic. I am actually get...
