Re: X axis movement malfunction b9 V1.1

Hi Adrian, The 1.2 X motor is slightly more powerful and can replace the 1.1 motor. You will need to adjust the x motor in Settings/ printer settings. Change Z home offset settings to 10400. That is for the 1.2 motor. But, thats not your problem :-) To solve the problem you are having, print a piece...

Issue updating B9 -1.2

Hi All,
When I run a B9 1.2 update to see if there is anything new... Material settings etc. I get this Error message and I have no idea what to do or how to fix it.

Re: print fails

Looks like your platform is no longer perfectly aligned. For a test, you could take a piece of folded paper and put it between the Yellow arm and the red platform on the side that is failing. tighten that. try a new test print. The paper will put downward pressure on it and work better. It may fix i...

Re: B9 1.2 X axis motor is rattling

Once I receive a new Xmotor or when I rebuild one for someone, I wrap electrical tape around the Joining area of the motor and gear box. That way, it eliminates any vibration and does increase the life of the motor/ gears by quite a bit

I use a polished Piece of stainless steel about 1/32 inch thick by 2 inches wide by 5 inches long. The working end has been sharpened, then dulled down with a flat lap wheel. I have used it for 7 years and will not damage the FEP or PDMS I have seen scratches caused by small parts breaking off durin...

Re: X acxis motor

It is critical to put the x motor back in the exact original position. Probably when you put the new motor in, you may have turned the motor 1 or 2 screw holes over.. The 6 retaining screws are spaced evenly, so that can easily happen. to fix, go back to original instructions if you have them, other...

Re: Emerald Resin Casting Issues

1750 is probably his sterling silver temp... not oven temp :-) Using an Electric melter. The melter can be up to 50 oF off so thats not really the problem. Flask temp for a thick piece doing Vacuum casting is around 800- 900 oF If it's a thick piece, you want to add some vent rods so that you can va...

Re: Photocentric Castable Resin

Their resin, by itself is not castable at all using normal investment or even modified investment. You have to coat the print with a liquid/ceramic , then dry it , then use normal investment. Basically, you might as well invest with platinum investment if you want it to work. No I do not recommend t...

Re: FEP

Hi Dan, On my 2 machines, FEP works for a while... then I found that I had to manually increase the MSM by 50.. So, from .700 to .750 and it would print well again. No problems sticking to the platform. Before increasing MSM,problems I get would be in the heavier sections would tear apart. other mat...

Re: 925 Type Not Printing on Bottom of Block

Actually, these printers are known for getting excellent detail when printing flat on the platform.
If the detail is not there, then there is something wrong with the printed.
Maybe Mike can jump in and let us know.

Re: x-motor failure (v1.2, 30xy)

Not really sure whats causing 1 side to be blurry and the other crisp. Probably has to do with the angle the ring is at. ? is the inside of the ring slightly oval? looks that way. I would run a calibration print for the projector and post a picture up here or, better is to send to support and they w...

Re: x-motor failure (v1.2, 30xy)

Yes, I tape where the motor and the gear box join. When I bought new x motors a long time ago, I opened them and found the screws were not tight... So if it gets a little noisy, thats what to check. The Z should not run out. I put a small bearing/housing at the top of the case to hold the Z rod from...

Re: x-motor failure (v1.2, 30xy)

These motors are easy to fix. The problem is the internal screws that bolt the motor to the gearbox start to come loose. You need to remove the red holder, then you will see the loose screws that hold the gear box casing to the motor. These screws usually come loose and may need to be re-tightened. ...

Re: New printer - Z-axis calibration issue

Check connections going to the PCB. That has been problematic on occasion. Does the z make any noise when you toggle? if yes and it's not moving , then it could easily be the 2 main rods that align the platform. AK mentioned that in his post. On the back of the machine, there are 4 bigger screws. Th...
