So my lamp BLEW! really nice loud POP. So I have ordered a new lamp. However when the lap BLEW it broke a small lens cover that protects the optics. The optics are fine near as I can tell. Where on Gods green earth do I get a new little cover? Thanks for the help.

Re: Maker Juice Waxcast printing problems

Printed in emerald, not as nice a print, much better casting. I think in the future I will print class rings hollow on the back and fill with injection or sprue wax even in emerald. Seems like a much better way. As for waxcast I think it will go under the special use resin catogory. Though I have he...

Metalcaster

I gave up on casting cherry. Love the prints but could not cast it please give me the gritty details. My only hang up is I have to use an electric kiln with aquarium pump of course. This resin stuff seems to be a love-hate relationship.

Re: Maker Juice Waxcast printing problems

Another round of castings. I cast and small 2" x 3" flasks approximately. I had a wedding band a cluster crown in another class ring. I did a 36/100 ratio on plasticast investment. Which gives you the consistency of wall plaster makes it horribly difficult to invest. When's casting tempera...

Re: Maker Juice Waxcast printing problems

Hey Metalcaster I burn out emerald mostly and get really good results. Using this.straight to 400F for one hour then straight to 1400F for 3hrs. Then to casting temp. With this burnout I get ash inclusions with waxcast. The recommended burnout for a Waxcast A slow 500 900 1200 seems strange a little...

Re: Maker Juice Waxcast printing problems

So after some time away I must say you folks should be nicer to each other. Some of us are not purest. We like to put playing cards on our bikes and such. So waxcast is a more challenging resin to use but the prints are great. The resolution is that of cherry or better but is much more cast friendly...

Re: Maker Juice Waxcast printing problems

I too Have had fits with this one. You have to set your first layers to 4 layers @30 seconds each also texturing or drilling and or buring hole in the build table to give it something to stick to. Hope this helps.

Re: oh my old friend, castings

Hey Let me know if you have anything figured out I run the same set up as you. Emerald is kicking me in the pants too. The only thing I do that you don't is I add boric acid and calcium nitrate to my investment water before mixing it with plasticast. I have one piece that has failed to cast 3 times ...

Re: Printing rings seperate vs. on one common Foundation plate

When using non B9 resins like waxcast, I have found that you have to use a BIG foundation and over lap or your prints dont stick. When I use B9 resins however this is not the case. Each resin is a little different and needs its own tweeks.

Re: Where did the edge go?

Mike I pushed the Auto and it straightened right out. Thanks. Now how do I get the computer to see the printer with out having to turn the projector on before the computer? It is really annoying for when the computer is slow or what not. What happens is it will not give me print as an option. THX

Where did the edge go?

So I bought a slightly and gently used B9 1.2. As I prepare for my first print I went to calibrate the projector and the left-hand and backside edge are slightly missing. There was nothing misaligned and the lower aperture wasn't blocking the projector in any way. I think it might be an internal pro...

Re: Help printing this Ring

Import the STL into Rhino Not matrix and you should be able to make the changes that you need then re-export it. The menus are are a bit fun but all of them are there. I would turn it up right then add a base support pulse faning wire supports that attach to the base for the unsupported l...

Re: Support help.

You need to post an STL not a B9 layout file. The program can't find it so it is not there.

Re: Cherry Emerald mix

I know about 50/50 mix but it never cast that well for me. Perhaps that was because of the lack of draft in my kiln may be now that that is fixed it will be better. Truly I liked how it printed but the casting sucked. I'll have to give it another go. I need more work so I can print more... HAHAHA

Re: Bottom of Every Print is bad

Pics would help. Supports should curve or go at an angel nothing straight and Large flat things just put them straight on the build table. There should be many supports and your model should be at an angel. Have you done a calabration test print to make sure your settings are right? I know it is new...

Re: Cherry Emerald mix

So the reason this interests me is I got better defined prints with cherry but it was such a pain to cast that I lost the detail. Yellow is not very readable and cherry is not that great either. The two of them mixed together give you a brown color that is very readable and is supposed to cask prett...

What is wrong with you.. it is simple some of us are told what we can and can't do to other peoples equipment. There is more then one way to skin a cat just like there is more then one way to be a jerk. Most of use are just trying to make it work the way we are told too.@sandblaster As for where I ...
