Re: Wrong name reopening layout

Would it be possible to provide some screenshots of the issue you are having?

The "Model List" is meant to show the names of all the stl files that are part of the layout project, It is not designed to show the layout file name.

I may be misunderstanding the issue however.

Thanks!

Re: Slicing problem?

It looks like there was an error slicing on your machine. I would be curious to know if the blank slices appear after slicing again? This may be a Mac specific bug.

I've attached a correctly sliced job file that was generated on my windows machine.

Re: Slicing problem?

Should definitely not be doing that. Would It be possible for you to attach the stl and layout files so we can replicate the slicing issue here?

would you be able to attach the stl(s) and layout you used so we can test?

Also what are your system specs (operating system, graphics card, processor)

Thanks

Re: Problem with Supports after Update

Hi Kirk,

Just To Comfirm, The layout you attached is the one that is causing the issue(with medium supports)?

I tried to reproduce here but it seems to slice fine for me :?

Any chance you could list your specs (operating system, graphics card, 32bit vs 64bit)?

Re: Customizing platform size

You can open the UserPrinterConfigs.txt file in Documents/B9Creator and manually add a printer configuration. You can use the B9PrinterConfig.b9p file in AppData/Local/B9Creations, LLC/B9Creator as a reference and you can copy an entry from that.

Re: v1.8.1 Discussion Thread

I was running both my machines on windows 10..... until the update. Now it won't run.... I tried it in compatibility mode and it won't run either... Mike, do you have a solution for windows 10 and the new software? Does the software crash when you launch it? Did you auto-update or run the installer?

Re: Linux: could not find or load the qt platform plugin "xcb"

This is an issue with the installation that should be fixed in the next release of our software. I would recommend using windows for now if possible. If your a Linux guru and want to manually extract the files from the .deb and run from a local folder you should be able to. you may have to "apt...

Re: slicing issues

Looking at the model in untitled, I think if you re-made the large "body" curve as a new surface and then worked on combining your surfaces to make water-tight solids you would be in good shape. I see alot of surfaces that don't make up solids. Looking at the domes, you probably would want...

Re: slicing issues

After looking at the mesh file, it looks like there might be some "Double Backing" in the mesh shown in the image below: Capture.PNG This is hard for the slicer to deal with. I'm not sure if this is a result of a boolean-union or not, but if that region of the model could be corrected I'm ...

Re: changing the SLT

To clarify, If you change the "Extents" of the changed model in any way it will NOT load in the same way, and any existing supports may be offset from the models surface. You could however do any number of geometric changes to the "Inside" of the model and you should not run into...

Re: Slicing not responding

The Slicing process uses both the CPU and the GPU. The CPU side of the algorithm is used to calculate geometric problems. The GPU side of the algorithm is only used for internal rendering. Generally more CPU cores will increase your speed up to a point. I also tested some more models and I have the ...

Re: Can I upload a tiff file to print?

Can you convert your tiff stack file into a series of individual images? If so you can create a job file out of a series of images in .bmp .png .jpg .tiff .svg or .slc format using the old edit tool located in the main menu of the software. Once you open the tool you will have to open an existing jo...

There is currently no way of moving a group of objects at once. But there is a layout guide we currently have posted here: http://www.b9c.com/support/documentation

Would you be willing to share the Stl file that seems to be causing the problem? Also attaching the B9Creator_LOG that resides in your Documents/B9Creator folder would be helpful.

Re: XYZ rotation in layout

What your running into is called "gimbal lock" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gimbal_lock. You should be able to get around this by setting spin to 90 degrees, Y to 90 degrees, and adjusting X. Although its not very intuitive, any rotation is still possible.
