Thank you, guys

Ryan Knox provided the pics to help put my drive gears back where they belong. All good now.

Re: B9 1.2 X axis motor is rattling

Just tried to purchase a new motor from B9 store. Seems my login is not recognized. Not going to try again in an hour. But thanks so much.

Re: B9 1.2 X axis motor is rattling

Tim - Thank you for calling. It was grand to catch up with you. I broke the X arm system down and found that the screws holding the two halves of the motor case together had come loose. I tightened those 3 screws and put it all back into place. When I ran the x axis, the motor appeared to be grindin...

If that was my casting, I'd be thinking the melt was too hot. If nothing else, the back of your button should be a smooth hemisphere / semi-flat lake in karat gold.

Re: old vista computer to run grower

Hi Mike, Good to see you here. I don't guess a Chromebook will work for you- but I am guessing. I just pulled up "Refurbished: I3 Windows computers on newegg.com. Windows 7 or Windows 10 will work for you. I have a first generation i3 desktop with Windows 7 running my B9. https://www.newegg.com...

Re: layers swimming in the vat

When I have gotten that result, it was because the build table calibration was bad. The paper strip test made the problem go away.

Re: Z axis Lubrication

I run some of this oil down my Z screw every once in a while. I'll move the arm up and down a few times to work the oil into the nut. I bought a case of this for my milling machines and lathes at the turn of the century from my local True Value hardware store. The case will last a couple of lifetime...

Re: Wax / techniques for making sprues

I use "Ruby Red" injection wax to weld my B9 models to sprue wax. I use red sprue wax as well as yellow and blue sprue wax. I've been spruing printed models from various printers for a ~decade. Ruby red works fine for me.

Re: Ground Build Table

I was waiting for Metalcaster to respond. I Block sanded my tables on Labor Day weekend. Had a bunch of 220 grit aluminum oxide sheets and a big plate of half inch Lexan. Took some hours with hand dragging but I got my plates flat. Metalcaster uses a belt sander. I don't have belt stationary but I'd...

I'm probably very far behind the "can do with 3D printing" curve but printing you bails in place like that is brilliant.

Re: Injection molds made on the B9

I spent the better part of Sunday over Labor Day weekend - sanding (220 grit aluminum oxide paper) two build tables to as flat as I can gauge. I used a big sheet of 1/2" thick Lexan as my "floor" for sanding and I removed the platforms from the mounting structure so as to get a block ...

Re: Fail with new B9 software and new plastic vat

Thanks for your help fellas. I had calibrated two build tables to the new plastic vat. Did it several times with the paper strips to be sure all corners were down properly. Front, left corner on both tables was a struggle to fit to the PDMS on the plastic vat. I didn't have that problem with my own ...

Fail with new B9 software and new plastic vat

This setup printed 6 or 7 times with 3 or 4 different support systems with metal vat and last gen B9 software but it didn't make parts that I can use due to distortion. I've replaced the aluminum vat with the new acrylic vat and installed the new 1.8 operating software. My first test print with the ...
