Set gems in B9 prints before casting? ("stone in place casting")

Although you'd need some stones to do it with anything expensive! (Sorry, couldn't resist!)

Software Wishlist

Please no! Don't use standard keyboard shortcuts for anything other than what they do in *every* other bit of software:
CTRL-A = select all
CTRL-S = save

By all means have shortcuts, but not ones that will deliberately confuse people! :)

PDMs - cloud rate

My experience is that there is some correlation between exposure time and clouding. This fits in the the heat theory that the PDMS clouds when the light causes its temperature to rise too far. But I've not studied it in any detail and my experience is purely anecdotal and in no way scientific.

New resin mix - test sequence

Yes, it would help - but variable duration exposure across the area would lead to exposure times that could be plugged straight into print parameters

New resin mix - test sequence

I did suggest a feature like this about a year ago - a standard print with pillars and walls which are exposed for different amounts of time to give a 'one stop' to calibrating exposure times for a new resin. You just look for which walls and pillars failed and pick the lowest exposure that fully pr...

Plastic calibrate grid

One thing that would help with focussing is a section with parallel lines which are close together (1px wide lines, with 1px gaps) - that way, if you can see the lines separately then you know that you are at adequate focus for 1px resolution - and if they blur together then you know that you're not.

OWL Nano SLA... Really?

I suspect that those claims are the product of a marketing department with no technically trained staff. Their engineers are probably cringing at every press release.

v1.2 pre-order / JCK Las Vegas show pricing

I dream of the day when resin shipping is only $24! Total shipping (inc. customs and taxes) to the UK is significantly more than the resin cost.
That's the main reason I can't afford the B9 resin anymore.

Z - v1.2

I agree - looks really good. I have wondered in the past whether the projector and table could be mounted on the same rail, which would run the full height of the back plane. Obviously they would need separate lead screws but it would guarantee that they coudn't be out of alignment left right or in ...

If it's of any interest, I've settled on settle times of 15s for all my printing with spot-HT (see posts above), I found that was the minimum to reliably get all the rivet detail (0.1mm) and thin walls (0.3mm) on my models

You might want to wait until after they have been anodised before tapping the holes - Anodising leaves a layer which can bind up the threads so you'll probably have to run the tap through again afterwards anyway. Just my 2p.

Yes, I've been looking at that for a few parts. Unfortunately I've not found anyone nearby who can/will do casting in brass at a low enough cost. I'm sure that they exist, I've just not found them yet.

I've tried making gears and they can work but the materials tend to wear away pretty quickly. I wound't try it for anything which needs to run for a long time (motor gearbox for example)
