Re: PDMS replacements

I did the FEP over the PDMS and it worked well. Printed 20 of these little guys and not a mark on the surface of the vat. Although I did disconnect the springs from the sweeper because it was rubbing hard in one spot and leaving a line. Luckily it is on the far side were I do not print. IMG_7298.jpg

Re: Curing question

I would send your prints to one of the people that frequent this form. I use Metalcaster and have never had any issues. I am sure Robert Howle will do high quality work also. There may be others but these are two that I personally know of.

Re: Core to 1.2 slicing

I answer my own question in the post above talking about exporting the model and not the .stl file.

Re: Core to 1.2 slicing

If you save it as an .stl you lose being able to manipulate the supports. If you export to 1.2 you can still modify the supports.

Re: Core to 1.2 slicing

Because the software in Core allows undo and scaling of supports with the mouse wheel. Both of which are valuable enough to use Core and export to 1.2.

Re: Core to 1.2 slicing

I did not realize that I can do the supports in Core and export the model to 1.2 and it will retain all the support information. With the ability to export to 1.2 I can do any tweaks in and easily slice the models without having to go back into the Core software.

If all that makes any sense.

Core to 1.2 slicing

Any thoughts about output from the Core software slicing being an input for the 1.2 software? Save the outputting of the .slt from Core and re-slicing in the 1.2 software.

Re: Short cut keys

New software is great. You can change the size of the supports by moving the mouse and undo was something I always wanted....

my opinion, use a glove with a bit of dawn and water in the ultrasonic. I keep my water below 120ish.

Samurai Helmet

Been milling these but now I started printing. I had to just about rebuild the model to get it to print but I am close now. Just need to work on the texture around the Japanese lettering. Green on is milled (two pieces) metal one is also a cast milled part. Cherry parts are printed. 30xy30z. IMG_728...

calibration aspect ratios

My computer crapped out. Installing new system set projector to 1920x1080.

When I calibrate - I set the width to the calibration grid and the length is way too long?

Anyone ever have this?

TIA

Re: First Layers print issue

You don't want the layers to stick to the PDMS, maybe you meant they are not sticking to the table? I assume you are using the factory setting for the material and the printing? There is a button to reset to defaults. Make sure you have the correct material chosen when you print. There is an adjustm...

Re: First print using FEP and custom made build table

The FEP is not working all that well. The parts stick to it and get destroyed... I sent a message to the supplier to see if they can do anything to make the surface less sticky.

Settings

Is there a document or web page that talks about all the setting? (like below, not my settings just an example): image.jpeg With the FEP it does not need the that much initial exposure on the first two layers and I was wondering if there is a way to control the exposure time of the those two layers....
