*UPDATED-B9 v1.1 upgraded to v1.2 with a few EXTRAS!

I have a B9 Creator v1.1 but updated to a v1.2. I also modified the projector to allow better UV pass-through and less heat to degrade the sylgard. This worked magically and has allowed me to print much faster. I did this with Mike Joyce's input. I have been a faithful B9 contributor early on but ha...

ZOOM OUT

I love the support module in layout. However, I want to use it's functionality on parts with my 700 mm large format sls machine. I have a hollow part that I want support spanners to connect the two outside faces so the part does not warp as it cools. The problem is that I can do custom machine prope...

Re: Cant adjust z offset

I actually did both sets of advice. I reset the board per @metalcaster's suggestion. I didn't notice anything different besides peace of mind. I lowered the number to 8100 and was able to print fine. I suggest that this was less about the Kat Vat and the new board and possibly more about me being st...

Re: Cant adjust z offset

I currently have it at 8995. That's as high as it will allow me to adjust it in the software. At that point the z table assembly activates the lower limit switch in the empty part of the vat. When I manually raise the z by turning the z coupling I still have the x movements rub the pdms aggressively...

Cant adjust z offset

I am having difficulties adjusting the z offset with my new b9 board. There is a high limit of 8995.

I have a ver 1.1 machine with an anodized Kat Vat. Hence my issue.

Any help would be appreciated

Re: Vat does not moves all the way

I wanted to update everyone. Mike talked me through some checks ( thanks Mike)

I am gravitating towards encoder issues. I took a piece of paper and made sure the space between the encoder and the magnet was clean. That resulted in more revolutions and the vat only being open about 35%.

Re: Vat does not moves all the way

It will not allow me to adjust the settings after the new firmware is loaded because I do not have the proper projector resolution When the 1.1 firmware is loaded it will not allow me to adjust the counts lower but will allow me to adjust them higher. Am I mistaken. Should the window be 100% open at...

Re: Vat does not moves all the way

Do you have the older 100:1 ratio gear motor or the newer 131:1 gear motor? If you have the 100:1 and are using the setting for 131:1 it will act like you describe, I think. For 131:1 settings are: Slide Full Open Position (count): 4100 Slide Home Offset (count): 590 For 100:1 settings are: Slide F...

Re: Vat does not moves all the way

Yes, I completely disassembled the mechanism and cleaned it with ISO. The unit has been unplugged as well. I also disassembled the slide motor from the printer and cleaned the encoder with a brush and all around the arm area. I'm becoming quite good at re-assembly. I might be able to do it blind fol...

Re: Vat does not moves all the way

I mean that when you go to printer calibration-functional printer test-step 4:click here to command the printer to open the vat The vat opens however it goes past fully open and stops where the vat window is 75% open. There is no way for me to change the value in machine settings. When I try to ente...

Re: Vat does not moves all the way

I know this is an old thread. I'm having an issue all of the sudden with the vat moving all the way. I have a version 1.1 machine and the values coincide with the suggested settings.

I have the correct machine selected. It will not allow me to change the settings either.

Any ideas?

Just fyi, denatured alcohol is fundamentally different that isopropyl alcohol and may effect your parts differently.
