Re: threads

Hi Robert, it's 3/16" thick. The smallest hole is around 1.3 mm wide. Let me know if you'd like to give it a shot and I'll throw you the .stl If it's too large for the build area (94x38mm are the dimensions) I could whip up a smaller version. One thing I realized with certain materials is that ...

Re: threads

Nice! I actually created an interesting tool that can be printed with the most common imperial thread sizes already tapped out of it. It goes all the way down to 0-80 which is super small, so if someone here is interested in printing it, let me know. I'd be amazed if a screw that size would actually...

Updated - Form 1+

Form 1's smallest feature size along the x/y axis is 300 microns, which is the size of the laser beam. The beam has a locational precision in the sub 5 micron range, IIRC. I think it's great that they've managed to speed up the print times, but (not bashing) I still see the B9 as superior for smalle...

Z axis Linear Bearing Upgrade

I can second Atso's experience with smi4motion. I'm located on the east coast and was very put off by the high shipping price ($30 via ups) for the two bearings I needed. There was no way I was going to pay that much. So I contacted them and Ashley hooked me up with USPS shipping for a total of ...

B9 creator looks sweet!

I have a spare 1.1 machine covered over with a blanket in a spare room since purchase, brand new and never used (0 projector hours). I'm going to be looking to sell it in the next month or so, the only upgrade it may need is sliding in the linear bearings that jewelrybyjustin found that everyone lik...

B9 CREATOR FOR SALE $2500

Hi Mark, Hope no offense was taken, I've just considered selling one of mine recently and couldn't imagine parting with it for 1,500 but hope you'll be able to snag a good deal. With this being such an emerging market it's hard to gauge if depreciation will be a factor with some of these early machi...

GEN 2 ALUMINUM "KAT VAT" coming soon!

Had I bought the version 1 "double dog" vat (I didn't), I'd be very happy I had chosen to do business with you Kurt. Not many people would have as strong a commitment as you've demonstrated here to resolving an issue that nobody could have foreseen creeping up. It's nice to know you're standing behi...

B9 CREATOR FOR SALE $2500

That's borderline insulting gemmark (however I appreciate the hustle). Considering that up until the last month or two the B9 1.1 sold for $5,000 new assembled, I think $2,500 is a steal. 1.2 is going down to 30 microns x/y vs 50, only jewelers will probably notice or benefit from the improv...

Plastic calibrate grid

Thanks Mike. Excited to see what you come up with. I think these aids, spread over the projected area will help make sure the whole build envelope is in focus so people won't have to worry about printing and finding their projector was slightly askew. I never had this problem but I thought it might ...

Plastic calibrate grid

Is there any benefit to the calibration grid having some other smaller defining features besides focusing to the squares? Like maybe a crosshair with some 50 micron lines, etc. Just to ensure an always perfect/critical focus.

Guys I really need your help. Looks like my B9 is dying :(

Hi Tim, the process seems pretty straightforward. I dug up a video showing how the bulb's replaced on a Vivitek projector. Hope it helps.

$50 or less (sometimes much less) per module, depending on how many lumens are needed.

Here's the link that got me thinking about it :)

My guess would be the bulb too. I am really interested in the idea of taking one of those high power LED bulbs and wiht possibly a firmware mod (if needed)use them in the current projector. I've seen this done successfully with some 35mm film projectors and it makes a huge difference in the amount o...

Extra Projector Mount Modifications

I would be interested I'm a little confused though (that's normal for me :) Mike said a feature was removed from the software that he would be putting back in for the next release. It sounded to me like that feature was the ability to project the 2" x 1.5" (50-micron xy) build area anywhere on the b...
