Re: Core 530 vs. 550

I was impressed with the prints I saw at Tucson AGTA. I was wondering how detailed it could do with 30xy and 15z on very detailed parts on rounded surfaces.

Re: Watch out for Microsoft 10 latest update.

Windows 10 update messed up my video driver nVidia GTX960. Anytime I clicked on any button gave me a 10+ second delay. I uninstalled the driver, restarted and it installed an old driver. Went to device Manager and updated the driver and now it works fine. Don't know if that would help you. I use and...

Re: Some B9 Modifications

4 adjustable feet to level the printer would also be nice instead of using shims.

Sudden failure, broken filters

My printer has been working great until now. Suddenly stopped printing except base layers. Increased MSM to 2.000 with no improvement. Have 758 lamp hours. Replaced lamp but have same results. Calibrations are perfect on 1.2 printer with yellow resin. I noticed the two filters are shattered, so are ...

I found Home Depot levels are bad and equivalent to Harbor Freight products.

Re: Replacement Projector Lamp

I did new calibration and stepped back the MSM from 1.800 in increments until I had the best print ever at 1.600. I used the CCT Playground test piece had have a "perfect" print. Every detail is there. I'm very happy.

Re: Replacement Projector Lamp

I always use Cherry-Red 30xy. Should I switch to Cherry?
Just put new PDMS in newest vat and calibrated build table. Will check focus tomorow am.
Will also step back on MSM and do test print.

Re: Replacement Projector Lamp

Mike, My MSM is set at 1.800 to get successful prints. No other changes are made to your default settings. If I get the D912HD replacement lamp that has a different filter, will I be able to print with 1.000 MSM setting?
Thanks, Wayne

Red Cherry 1:1 Mix - Test Settings

Wow! This is it! Perfect print. I used CCT Playground on 1.2 machine, new PDMS, "old" resin. This can not be improved on this test model on my machine.
Thank you Mike!

Quick curing

Quote from Robert Howle on October 1, 2014, 14:08
Oven at 345 F for one to 1.5 hrs. also works.

This is what I do. I quit using the UV lamp because the oven is faster and better.

How did you learn your tweaks?

Update on using Machine Specific Multiplier to adjust cure times for my specific 1.1 projector: I did a test print after changing multiplier to 1.1 and saw improvement. Then tested 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, and 1.5, each time seeing improvement. You can't set it higher than 1.5, so I manually adjusted the Base...

New cleaning method

I tried curing in pure water and UV light. The test piece had cancer. Weird. Back to 70% alcohol, rinse in water and dry, oven cure and UV cure. No problems.

How did you learn your tweaks?

It works! I changed the Machine Specific Multiplier to 1.1 and I got a better print than default. Also Mike said, "It's important to understand the concept here. The "Settings" are all specific to the connected printer. If a particular printer puts out more energy than another, that only that printe...
