Re: Need help with a larger print

We got the 530 direct from B9Creations using their financing. But we bought our 1.1 and 1.2 from Red Door. I'll give them a ping and see. Thanks for the reference, really appreciate it!

Re: Need help with a larger print

Yes, we can can certainly do that. The boss wanted it one piece so I thought I would see about it. Thanks for the reply. Cheers

Need help with a larger print

Hi All, I have a simple bracelet that is 72mm in diameter and it doesn't fit the build table of my Core 530. I would like to print it in one piece so thought I would see if someone would print it in Emerald green for a fee and shipping charge. If you have time to do this in the next couple of days, ...

Re: Prongs .1 mm narrow, shanks .1 mm wide

This is just a follow up. During performing projector recalibration(with new emerald resin, SS build table, and vat), I discovered that the outside corner 5mm square posts measured 5mm +-.03 but the center 5mm post measured 4.86. My MSM was 1.65 and my slope .300. I adjusted MSM to 1.75 and Slope to...

Prongs .1 mm narrow, shanks .1 mm wide

Has anyone experienced small widths like prongs (1mm or so) printing to small compared to rest of print? I adjusted my msm to a point where prong widths are .1 small and shanks .1 wide. I am not sure if I should go through a complete cal or maybe what's left of my green resin is underperforming. Tha...

Re: Better mesh creation settings for stl file

Thanks Mike. I recall a discussion some time back that the lego bricking was a result of the lower resolution 780 projector and should be remedied with the higher 1080 resolution projector of B9C v1.2. Do does that mean that it is more a function of the physical process of layer on layer? Even at 30...

Re: Better mesh creation settings for stl file

Ok, here are the artifacts I was talking about, the radial edges that manifest themselves on some models. I tried this print with normal and hi res mesh creation settings, and printed them with similar results. I gave both prints to the shop and asked them to choose. They chose the hi res one but it...

Re: Better mesh creation settings for stl file

Sorry for the delay getting back to this post. My print went fine and both mesh models were identical in performance. Next week when I have more time, I will go back to previous model that demonstrated this difference I described (and thought I saw). Thankfully, we have been very busy this week. Hav...

Re: Better mesh creation settings for stl file

I think I said edges not corners, at least that's what I meant. For example, the lines we get appear as radial lines around the side of a tapered ring shank perpendiular to the ring rail. And it doesn't make sense to me either. Except I don't have an explanation what Rhino does with the default '0' ...

Re: Better mesh creation settings for stl file

We make jewelry. We do all the prints at 30x30y & 30z. This is probably the easiest way to show you what we do. http://www.hollymchone.com/custom-jewelry-gallery.php

Re: Better mesh creation settings for stl file

Thanks Robert. I was trying to find out what the default values are when things are set to 0.0. The McNeel website just says they are 'ignored' by Rhino so I don't know what that means. My previous settings used were like your suggestion execpt for Minimum Edge Length also set to .002. And we would ...

Better mesh creation settings for stl file

I've had some non-mechanical lines and geometric artifacts in my printed models. It was previously attributed to lego blocking on 1.1 printer but I still got it on 1.2. I got to thinking it might be due to nurbs to mesh conversion. We use Matrix/Rhino. I found a paper written by a company called Fat...

@metalcaster, I think the jamming indication may be from a faulty x motor. I have one on order.

Re: Kit Kat Vat on v1.2 - Z too high??

I am trying to get my B9C 1.2 online, and using Kit Kat Vat and sweeper from my 1.1 machine. I was able to calibrate the build table with default printer setting. Using cherry/red 1:1 mix settings, and each bottle of material is about 2 years old. I have tried 2 prints of the Calibration model (cali...

The second cal step to fine tune the calibration should work nicely. Really looking forward to the sw update!

Plastic calibrate grid

That's how I do it as well. Use the calibration grid for zoom, look directly at the PDMS for focus. Didn't think to look from underneath though. Probably more visible that way. The grid I made has the engraving on the top. It could be on the bottom. Just didn't want to expose the pdms to any possibl...

Plastic calibrate grid

@Mikej, It is not a big deal if the grid layout changes. I use Rhino to layout the grid and export it to my engraver. Luckily there is one file format they have in common. Unless someone needs/wants one before the sw release, it may be best to wait.

Plastic calibrate grid

I can make some and have ready to send out Monday. I'll make ten of the 50 micron units for just the postage cost. It works as far as I can tell, but more people should try it out. Send me a private message with a picture of the orientation of your calibration grid (as it is if you are looking downw...

@akgold: There appears to be 2 orientations experienced by b9 users. Sometimes horizontal is flipped. It seems to be dependent on video card used and/or operating system. I am using Win 7 and it knows my display is projector. It may do flip automagically. My video driver sw would only do a rotate, n...
