Autodesk has joined the party

Based on the shape of this printer, it seems to have a similar separation mechanism to the b9, but instead of the side-to-side sliding, it does some sort of rotation/sliding movement.

GEN 2 ALUMINUM "KAT VAT" coming soon!

Thanks for the explanation Kirk. Makes sense to me. If this makerjuice guys made and sold the tank without permission from Mike then he deserved what he got. However, it's still kinda strange, since I was under the impression Mike doesn't really make a lot of money from selling the tanks, being that...

GEN 2 ALUMINUM "KAT VAT" coming soon!

So MakerJuice tried to sell their own version of the VAT and got a C&D letter from Mike. What about this aluminum version? How is Mike allowing this one? I'm just confused, because I thought b9 creator was open source. Hope it's not turning into 3dystems and suing everyone. http://makerjuice.com/201...

Very nice job Mike! Is there some distortion there? Is that because the resin cures soft? Did you try the half size 5mm cube yet?

v1.2 pre-order / JCK Las Vegas show pricing

Mike, While I'm saving up cash to buy the new machine, I have a question that I don't seem to be able to find an answer to on the forum. While 30 micron XY resolution is great and 30 micron Z resolution is also great, my question is... how thin can the machine go? Have you ever tried 10 micron z-sli...

That $20 coupon quickly fades away when they charge $24 for fedex ground shipping.

JCK 2014?

Hey Mike,

Will be at the JCK also. Do you plan on offering some machines for sale there? Is there a show discount?

Can the b9 handle this model?

Brumbaer, Thanks for the interest. Unfortunately, it is really not up to me to share setting, etc, anything about the printer that pulled this off. I don't want to use this forum to promote anyone. This post started with me seeing a print from an expensive dlp printer at the 3d printer show, and the...

Obviously there is no need for such tiny things, but the applications will be for tiny details for jewelry.

Can the b9 handle this model?

Oh and a "little" bonus.

here it is printed at an insanely small half size (those tiny little lines are 50 micron thick)

Enjoy.

Will take some micro shots when I can.

Here it is printed on the 3d printer he is developing (not a great photo but you get the idea)

Now let's hope someone (who has the time, can match it)

Me too mike, but casting that thing is another battle. I don't know of anyone who would be able to. Maybe if it was pure wax ;)

Robert, you don't have time to try it. Got it.

Anyone have time to give it a go? You can scale it up to 300 microns and see if that works for you.

Still no takers? I asked a friend of mine to print it on his DIY printer and he did it with no problems at all.
