Re: B9 scan 350

Hello Franz, Good to see you on here again. Yes, this our new B9 Scan 350 and I will tell you. If you do a lot of custom setting for odd shaped Opals/Gem Stones and Shodow Bands this is a great unit. I have one and it is vey easy to use and will make shadow band designs a breeze. Feel free to reach ...

Re: duh

Hello, Do you have a CAD Program? If so you should be able to " CAP " the model if it has plainer profiles. If not then you should be able to use a 3rd party software like " Magic" or " Mesh Mixer" to accomplish this. It really would be helpful if you can post an image ...

Re: Vat racing back and forth

Hello Jon,

I have had that happened before. If you restart the B9 software then plug the 1.2 back to power you should be okay.
This happens when there is a disconnection from the software to the machine.
Hope this helps.

Re: First cast. Not great

Hello, It's Fernando from Red Door, we had spoken about a year ago. Glad to see that you joined the B9 group. At first glance I see that parts of the model came out good but that that there was some areas that had rough surfaces. My first and only suggestion would be that you leave it at the higher ...

Re: So few posts on Core series...

do the core series printers require recoating vats with PDMS when worn out still? or have they found a better way? The new B9 Core Series does not require the VATs to be re-coated. The new Dura VAT is a very nice improvement, you can focus on print out your models and do not have to worry about re-...

Re: Will a slightly unlevel PDMS work okay?

If the surface of your PDMS is uneven, then you would have to calibrate the Build Table to lay flat against it and this would not be recommended. For best results it is always best to apply the PDMS on a level surface. Of course you can give it a try to see if it will print properly but if you have ...

Re: Is the clear silicone caulk useable to recoat a vat?

We do not recommend Caulking to use in Place of PDMS. It is best that you use PDMS to coat your VATs as using other materials can cause damage to your VATs.
Using our recommend PDMS is give you a higher chance to getting great printing results.

Best,
Fernando

Re: software wish - paint / repair individual layers

I do understand why you wish there was a tool to help you out with this. The best way to solve this issue is to design the model in CAD exactly how you would like it to print out. This way once you export it as an STL. your ready to print with out any further modifications. So as your designing the ...

Re: Supports

You have to make sure that your model is selected for that feature to work. When selected it should be blue and when not selected your model will be gray color.

Let me know if this fixes it.

Re: Is anyone using the new Core series printer?

When u select the file from the library and then resin and resolution (slice thickness) then u get the times. They are always shorter on the 530 due to shorter exposure times per layer. I don't have the 550 so I can't tell you. Mike will have to respond. The time diff increases with height of the p...

Re: Does anyone have 100% success casting yellow?

Hello All! I've been really having issues with this particular piece. It's a small medallion with small words debossed in the back. You can't see it due to it being cleaned off with some Invest Away, but there was a some black streaking on the back. I cure my pieces for at least 5+ hours. I am usin...

Re: Core 530 vs. 550

I was impressed with the prints I saw at Tucson AGTA. I was wondering how detailed it could do with 30xy and 15z on very detailed parts on rounded surfaces. The 530 does great prints at 30 micron, with the factory settings you can not print with 15 micron Z slices. I was printing with the 530 and I...

We placed an order for the 550 series at the Tucson show and can't wait to get it in the store! We love the larger build platform and are excited to print bangle designs. We are currently running a projet 1200 with 30 micron resolution. Will changing to 50 microns make much of a difference when pri...

Re: BEST CAD PROGRAM?

I think you will also do very well with Matrix, the only other software that is similar is 3Design Software. It is about the same price and they have training. Look at what both have to offer and see what you think will be a good fit.
