3D Sculpting Software

Just to chime in on this thread. I make video games and toys related to video games for a living. We use Zbrush almost exclusively. 3D coat has some nice features but Zbrush really does dominate all the other packages out there. I've tried almost all of the major ones. Zbrush seems to be able to han...

Partual duplicate inside a print.

Nice!! Credit Card!! Considering that 1 character printed for me is around 1k, I will break even at around 6 characters printed. I had to work 2 months of freelance on top of my 60+ hour a week job to be able to get enough money to even think about getting a B9. Last weekend was the first weekend I ...

Partual duplicate inside a print.

Hi Robert. No need for any apology. Like I said I will fully take the responsibility of not being able to write clearly enough for online forums. Lucky for us we can keep replying and further try to explain to get the point across. I've learned so much in just a week of reading through this forum. T...

Partual duplicate inside a print.

Hey Robert. I am sorry if what I said offended. My intention was not to offend anyone or belittle the B9. I never said it was a toy and I don't think anything I said implied that either. I will fully admit potential inadequate writing skills on an internet forum where seemly anything said will offen...

Partual duplicate inside a print.

I agree with what perceptual_-dreamer says completely. I don't know if I was clear enough in my last post. When I said I could see faceting in a print I had done, it wasn't with a B9. I have been reading everything I can get my hands on all week because I am going to be getting a B9 in the next coup...

Partual duplicate inside a print.

Is that something that will get updated in the future? To 64 bit on Windows? That is the platform I use. Very important. 2-3 Million polygons is quite low polygon wise with regard to anything made in Zbrush. Reducing the polygon count down to anything below around 1.5 and details start to really dis...

Partual duplicate inside a print.

Not to derail the thread, but talking about very large files... How large a file can the software handle? Is it better to use polygon counts or literal STL file size? That's one of my largest worries. Many of the models I want to print are very high polygon. Even with reduction tools they are very h...

Introduce Yourself

Hey guys, thanks for the offer. I live in Albany NY, USA. If you can still help me with a test print please let me know. Send me a pm or just respond here. I've been on a crash course in learning everything I can about the B9. So impressed not only with the printer itself, but Mike's active support ...

B-9 Vs Form 1

Squeeze bottle torches or Buffalo torch are used as Mike said to "flame polish". You hit the surface of NSP Chavant clay or sculpting waxes with the tiny flame and it smooths out bumps. Developing a resin that had that property would be great. What about dropping a print in a bath of something mildl...

B-9 Vs Form 1

Amazing. I've been reading threads on this forum all night. I am going to read every last post in the next few nights. I am really amazed at the quality of this printer. Do these resins level when melted? The way sculpting waxes level to a smooth surface when hit with a small squeeze bottle torch. I...

B-9 Vs Form 1

Wow that last image of the chair comparison is amazing. The B9 destroys the Form1. I am so glad I found the B9 and didn't just buy a Form1 like I was going to. I want to see more comparisons like this with different types of objects. A really high resolution face with hair would be great to compare....

Hi, my name is Kenzie and I work in the video game industry as a 3d character artist and concept artist. I've been doing game art for 14 years. I have a large back log of 3d artwork I would love to print. Plus I have been making my own action figures in 3DSMax and Zbrush. I started looking into affo...
