FEP with Silicone adhesive

Hello, I'm running the 1.1v with Kirks Kat aluminum vat. I wanted to check about the FEP with Silicone adhesive for my VAT, has anyone got any updated information about this? Where can I purchase this? And what type to look for? I understand it has to be at least 0.5mm? Does anyone have a link where...

How many hours of lamp life?

Hi! I've had my 1.1v for some years now and having recently some issues with the prints. Done all the regular build table calibration, etc. So now I'm thinking that after the projectors lamp has 891 hours on it, maybe that's the issue (?) How many 'good' lamp hours should I expect on the 1.1v Vivite...

Lamp needed for v1.1 machine d535 vivitek

Hello!
I have been enjoying my 1.1v for some years now (thanks Mike!), looks like I need to replace my projectors lamp.
Does anyone know where I can find one?

Thank you,

Ben

half supports

Maybe you need more base projecting time, how much are you using?
I would try thicker support, like 1-1.1mm since there is anyway some shrikage, so 1mm might be 0.85...
Do you have enough resin in the tank? somtimes when it's not too full it take longer for the resin to flow to place.

How to ensure accurate prints?

Did you open the printer window in the middle of printing? or move the machine while it was printing? looks like that might be the case?

tip for cleaning models

Well, couldn't you just put the prints in iso which is in a plastic box, and put that box in the water of the ultrasonic? might do the same job?

tip for cleaning models

Hey, i'm just loving my b9c, having so much fun with it. Wish I had more time to design more stuff :) Tip I would like to share: If you don't have a air pressure "gun", as I don't, here's a simple and cheap thing you can use to clean your prints: Right after I take the prints off the build table, I ...

Matte finish on print

Robert, good stuff. Now that you have the two machines, when comparing the prints - how does the 30xy quality look like? can you see a big difference in print quality?

GEN 2 ALUMINUM "KAT VAT" coming soon!

@ Mikej

Would a thicker layer of pdms last longer? or would it be the same using a thin layer? Thanks

GEN 2 ALUMINUM "KAT VAT" coming soon!

Just got my new Kat vat, great job there Kirk! looks and feels great and packed very well. If i'm not using a oven, how would I use the blue dam which comes with the vat? since I know it shouldn't go in to the oven (if I had one). How long should I have it in the vat after I poured the pdms, not usi...

Will the new VAT work with the genius projector mod (which slides left-right?) I hope so, would be a shame to waste that extra vat area for printing...

Yes, I wonder how they respond to the shrinkage matter. Maybe they add some offset to the slicing - what else can be done? I know that others, and myself, just add some more mm to the model for this issue, especially for prongs and little parts. If I need 0.3mm prongs I would model 0.5~ prongs. But ...

As there is a shrinkage issue, I get 0.15mm - 0.2mm total on shinkage (and projector is callibrated). Scaling doesn't really fix the problem. I can't scale 20%.... specially with specific ring size, etc. It would be so powerful if we could have a option to offset the slicing that has been made, ...

Projector Mount Modification

Í must say, my PDMS was too cloudy already and this modification just saved my vat for a second round of life - Just dubled it's life! :) I just used part of this mod, replacing the 3 bolts to 600mm one's with tubing (60mm is a little too long, try 50mm like Mike wrote). Just finished my print, and ...
