Re: B9 v1.2 - 61 hours with ALL accessories/PC - Outside Philadelphia

I'd really like to sell this printer to someone who will get good use out of it. I'll drop the Price to $4000 for everything if it helps someone. That included everything to get going. Thanks!

Re: B9 v1.2 - 61 hours with ALL accessories/PC - Outside Philadelphia

I didn't list before but there are resin filters, funnel, extra bottles for mixing, clean tools, and a few other misc items for use with the printer.

I'm definitely open to offers so please fee free to PM me to discuss. Thanks!

B9 v1.2 - 61 hours with ALL accessories/PC - Outside Philadelphia

I have been going back and forth in my head, but I need to sell my B9. I'll start right out with the reasoning and it's almost entirely due to time constraints and it not fitting into my changing needs. I've never had anything but good things to say about these machines and I love the parts coming o...

New Form 2 - Interesting B9 Features now...

http://formlabs.com/products/3d-printers/form-2/#form-2

Got an email about these. Looks like a B9 with a laser rather than projector. I was really surprised (or maybe not for how well it works on our B9's) to see the sliding release and a resin resin wiper on the new model. Interesting.

Re: Check or not check

Any thoughts on the software automatically picking the dynamic option depending on the relative percentage of exposure area to total build area? Maybe with a manual override, but I like all the features you have adjusted and proved out that makes for less options for me to have to mess with unless I...

Re: Making build table flat

I have been using my build tables directly as shipped, with slight adjustment for good free sliding in the calibration screw slots. I have done nothing to the surfaces. I use a decent amount of pressure when calibrating and have always had good adhesion at various resolutions. The raft is not always...

Volume in the 1kg Bottles?

I haven't seen it listed, and I know if varies slightly for different resins. Mike - Have you or anyone measured the density or the approx volume there is for a given kg of resin? I'll have to go ahead and measure it, but I figured someone has. Tried searching a little but I never have good search r...

Re: Software Upgrade Idea - Calibration

SO, as I usually do - I just looked back at the settings screen fearing I may have missed something. There is a x and a y calibration multiplier. Is this exactly what I was asking for? i.e. If I'm very consistently 3% large, If i put .97 in each for the x and y calibration multipliers, will this mak...

Software Upgrade Idea - Calibration

Hey Mike, et al. I had An Idea for a different way to calibrate the part sized that are printed. I have watched the videos and printed the calibration model for balance and fade and all that. Mine comes out VERY well as is for Balance and Fade (70xy setting, 85z Red Resin). The pin sizes are a bit b...

Investment Casting Aluminum

First I'll say that I'm still quite green with casting, but I made my first attempt at casting aluminum as I have some need for aluminum parts. I don't have much need or desire to cast precious metals, most all Bronze with some aluminum. Could use some steel, but that's a different thought altogethe...

Re: best way to cast this?

Oh really? I'm going to absolutely try this. The parts are about 1" to 2" diameter and between 1/16" and 1/8" thick. The lettering can be quite small and I was thinking / understanding that it was more of an issue of the incoming molten metal busting up some of the investment on ...

Re: best way to cast this?

Daniel, I haven been trying to do some scale builders plates from locomotives that are similar to this work and have problems with the metal breaking up the detail. I see the sprues are on the back side. You also recommend more of smaller sprues? I was using a sprue like above with issues. On the va...

Re: Cleaning/Leaving resin in the vat

I have, mostly out of laziness, left resin in the vat for LONG times. I go into down times and at most it's sat for months, 4-5. All I've done is use a credit card to mix it up good and start printing with it. Haven't really had any problems. Might not be the best thing to do, but I've done it...
